Today I decided to google “Smoking Hot News” to see what came up. The second hit was smoking-hot-news.com, with the tagline “At Smoking-Hot-News.com you’ll find the best information and newest articles on videos of people smoking crack.”
Think it’s time for a name change.
On to the “Releaf Links”:
- The first of two MMJ related bills has almost been passed, which requires, amongst other things, a full physical exam before receiving a recommendation. Elsewhere, protesters are demanding a recall of the Denver City Council due to their support of regulations and the CTI urges everyone to show up and give their two cents on Thursday.
- Fort Collins continues their regulatory push while Boulder moves to a second reading on a bill that would include a $6000 fee for the first year. They could generate $300,000 in tax revenue in 2010. Westword has a little more background on the situation in Boulder.
- Nederland is viewed as quite progressive on a lot of MMJ related issues, but the banks aren’t catching on.
- UPDATE: Dan May, the DA accused of harassing the Co. Springs dispensary Pure, says he was simply issuing a complaint as a citizen. Sean Paige blasts him and suggests that with all the black market drug transactions at schools, it might be best to buffer neighborhoods away from them.
- Most employers are still against medicating in the workplace.
- Research that indicates smoking marijuana may leave sperm tired as well may lead to a male birth control pill.
- Obama catches more flack for doubling seizures and pumping up the funding for “The War on Drugs.”
- A former federal prosecutor gets the wrong package… filled with 33 pounds of marijuana.
- Australian researchers show that prolonged marijuana usage in adolescents can slightly increase the risk of psychosis. It seems like a well conducted study, but frankly, all marijuana research is fairly incomplete.
